2023-2024 is our inaugural year!
We meet at a church building in St. Charles, Missouri on Thursdays from 9-3:15.
We will meet 24 times during the ’23-’24 school year.
We are a completely parent-run, volunteer based homeschool cooperative, no money is earned by any board member or parent.
We are an academic co-op, meaning that there is academic work the student is expected to complete outside of class, in order to be adequately prepared for class time together. The Form 3 students (grade 7+) have the most work to complete at home. Examples of work at home include reading, memorization and themed projects.
Parents are still 100% responsible for their children’s education, the co-op provides our students a place to interact with academic ideas, present projects and be spurred onto academic excellence through peer support and encouragement.
The Board of Directors sets the “schedule” for our co-op day, based upon Ambleside Online Form suggestions (plans made yearly, each member knows the entire year plan in advance), and all moms contribute to the executing of the schedule/plan. If you’d like to see a sample of our daily plan, please use the button to Contact Us.
We follow Charlotte Mason’s group grade level recommendations (Forms).
We begin our day with an opening assembly for all groups and then move to specific Form group activities.
The Opening Assembly for all ages includes:
- Prayer/Liturgy
- Scripture
- New City Catechism
- Hymn
- History Timeline Song
- Folksong
After Opening Assembly, students are divided into 4 age groups for the following activities:
